Your care includes medicines and breathing exercises that help you breathe easily. If you have long-term bronchitis, you may need oxygen.

Your care may include the following:


  • Avoiding colds and flu
  • To keep the mucus slim, drink more than just drink.
  • Using humidifier (moisture protector) or vaporizer.
  • Sitting and slipping in the right position to remove mucus from your lungs. You will be taught to do this.


Easy to breathe


  • Quit Smoking The only way to slow down the loss of prolonged bronchitis is to quit smoking. It's never too late to leave.
  • Do not drink alcohol. This reduces the desire to cough and sneezing to clean your air passage. This reduces the fluid in your body, which causes hardships in your lungs and it is difficult to get out. 
  • Avoid things that are harmful to your lungs such as air pollution, dust and gas.
  • Raise the upper part of your body and sleep Use large pieces of foam to keep your head high from the bed.  


Call your doctor immediately, if you: 


  • It is cold or is more fever than 101 degree F or 38 degrees C
  • More need for inhaler or breathing treatment
  • Mucus is more, the color changes or the more difficult it is to get out
  • New or growing blue or gray spots in the skin or mouth of your fingernails or fingers
  • Talking or normal activities are going down
  • You need more pillows while sleeping or you have started sleeping in the chair to breathe in the night.  
  • Can not breathe 
  • Get confused, you dizzy or you feel unconscious
  • Feel new pain or stiffness in the chest
